SAVVY STAGERS - HELPFUL HINT FOR PUTTING ON A BEDSKIRT

This helpful hint comes from Susan Dearing at Magical Room Makeovers. If you've ever tried to put a bedskirt on a bed by yourself, you know how difficult it is to remove a heavy, bulky mattress, place the bedskirt, and then try to put the mattress back on the bed without scrunching up the bedskirt. It's a pain, and I mean that literally. I have thrown out my back many times trying to do this awkward task alone.

So Susan suggested cutting out all but about a foot or so of the middle portion of the bedskirt (the part that lays on top of the box springs. It's usually a plain, white cotton fabric with the skirt attached to it.) By doing this, you can just tuck in the edges of the white fabric without having to remove the mattress. You can do it by yourself in just minutes and you won't throw out your back. Brilliant!
